Archetyping Daybed refers to the classical daybed, constructed out of archetypal forms. Yet its carved surface is atypical in appearance. The color of the textile cushion and the aubergine-pigmented chipwood induce a dialogue. The low furniture piece embodies a compelling tension between hardness and softness, between contemporary and traditional crafts.

Archetyping Daybed underlines a contrast: The machine made chipwood is transformed into a structured, touchable furniture. The daybed provokes a fusion between various tactile materials and visualizes ancient and modern culture. The carved surface of the daybed reinforces the sculptural character of the object.
