NO-MADE COFFEE CUPS
a collaboration between Cleo Maxime and Linde Freya.
the no-made Espresso Cups started at the point where Cleo and Linde came to talk about Working on Distance. How to work on a distance and still work closely together. As Cleo went to Curacao and Linde to Sao Paulo, this became the point where a new project was born. Only the shape of the cup is designed in the Netherlands. We became to work with local ceramics and glazes, and let us inspire by the colours and materials that catched our eyes in these new surroundings.
Two complete different series of cups where the result: ‘White Sand Cups’ are a series in shades of blue and clear white from Curacao. They are inspired on the very white sand and the waterline which is translated now in the glaze.
‘Wet Asphalt Cups’ made in Sao Paulo, has a structure, a ‘grain’ and a dark shiny almost black blue. Combined with the old pavement colors. They are inspired on the streets of Sao Paulo, where it rains endlessly, and where asphalt fills the city.
