The Reworked Chair focuses on a simplicity and rawness, carried out in brushed aluminum, white bronze details and hand-lacquered cotton, coinciding in its raw but delicate gesture, within each layer. As a continuation of architectural elements that are translated both through metal and soft parts, it is a first work of the Reworked series, that reflects Linde Freya’s ideas about soft and solid architecture, in fact the human shelters we continuously seek: from coat, chair or house, the common denominator is that we envelop ourselves with a layer, a shelter to find protection and comfort. The asymmetrical, fragmentary shapes visible in the soft flaps emerge precisely from symmetry found in historical and modern buildings. Original floor plans divided and reduced to residual parts. Through a technique of hand-painted fabric, Linde Freya explores on a flexible material, here natural cotton used as a base. The small feet, from liquid wax to solid white bronze, are a reminder of the artisanal raw material, wax-formed castings that capture the vibrant texture and contrast with the curved aluminum shell. It is that contrast between more primitive and modern techniques that which bring a layering to the work.
